Kenny Chesney Tickets - Fans Drink, Kenny Does Fashion
by Brent Warnken
If someone was to take a drink for every alcohol reference in a Kenny Chesney song, he or she would be three sheets to the wind long before a concert ended. Let's see, there is "Keg in the Closet" and "Beer in Mexico," which both mention it directly in the title. Others like "Young," "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems," "I Go Back," "Summertime" and "Out Last Night" all mention drinking as well. It looks like some fans at one of his concerts took the songs a little too seriously! At his recent performance at a country music festival in Massachusetts, over 100 people were arrested, mostly for underage drinking. Even arrests couldn't damper the mood at the show, however, as thousands rocked out to Chesney's hits without going overboard.
Fans may hear another celebratory song from Chesney lately, as he just launched his own clothing line. The line is called Blue Chair Bay and it is already being sold at certain stores in Florida, Nashville and Alabama. The prices range from a t-shirt that costs $35 to $72 for khaki pants, and the line will also include headwear by Chesney. The line is supposed to capture Chesney's laid-back island style that he displays at his concerts and in his video. Chesney recently explained the line to People and said, "Blue Chair Bay is kind of like the place we'd all like to go if we had no obligations or nowhere to be, and that's kind of what I want this clothing line to represent. These are the clothes I would pack to go to this place." With this new clothing line, those who get Kenny Chesney tickets online will be able to dress like the country star at his next concert.
Other stars may have picked up a guitar as soon as they could walk, but Chesney was different. The Tennessee native didn't start playing the guitar until he was a student at East Tennessee State University. He found that he had quite the talent and soon started playing locally with a band. He made a demo himself and promptly sold 1,000 copies. Upon graduation, he decided to try his luck in Nashville and landed a deal with Capricorn. Unfortunately, Capricorn wasn't as committed to Chesney's success as he was, and the lack of promotion for his first album, 1994's In My Wildest Dreams, resulted in lackluster results.
Capricorn's country division folded soon after, forcing Chesney to find a new home. He landed with BNA and released All I Need to Know in 1995. From there, his popularity has sky-rocketed. Over the years, he has had numerous number-one singles like "She's Got It All," "How Forever Feels," "The Good Stuff," "There Goes My Life," "Anything But Mine," "Living in Fast Forward," "Never Wanted Nothing More" and "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven." These songs and others have made him a favorite winner of ACM, CMA and CMT awards. His latest release is his 2009 greatest hits album, the second such release for Chesney.
